The Rosa Parks I Transit Center pictures above.  Behind the tracks in the Rosa Park Transit Center II, commonly called the Rosa Parks People Mover Headquarters.  The Tall Building on the Top Center is The Book Building Tower, it's 40 stories tall and it is a Office Building currently scheduled to be  totally rebuilt inside and out to acomidate living quarters like apartments, lofts, condos.  It will be renamed The Rosa Parks Residence when c ompleted.

Last week, DART and the City of Dallas officially broke ground on the new Rosa Parks Plaza — named for the famous civil rights pioneer who helped trigger the Montgomery bus boycott by refusing to give up her seat and move to the back of the bus. Originally the Elm/Lamar Patron Plaza, the $1.4 million facility is connected to DART’s West End Station and will feature trees, a water wall, passenger shelters, bus bays (to relieve the nearby West Transfer Center) — and a bronze statue of Rosa Parks, created by sculptor Erik Blome.

So the former parking lot will add some greenery, some water, some seating and some borrowed historical significance to downtown.

According to Blome, the second casting is already done. On the other hand, DART says the entire plaza won’t be finished until February 2009.

There are many many more buildings, schools, streets and projects across the country named after Rosa Parks.

in Washington. Congress voted to pay Ms Parks,

who died last week at 92, the sort of respect

usually reserved for presidents by allowing the

public to file past her coffin in the Rotunda.

Ms Parks played a leading role in sparking civil

rights protests when she was arrested in 1955

 for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man.
